This book is a clear recommendation book that students should study because it is necessary. However, the writer does not want to talk about the historical and philosophical meaning or futuristic vison. This book is a ‘practical book’ that the author contains what she wants to talk to elementary school students after she watched and felt at school. The author is a passionate elementary school teacher.

She has divided why students do not want to study into seven reasons – ‘Hate study’, ‘Not sure I can do it’, ‘No fun’, ‘Want to play’, ‘Cannot concentrate’, ‘Hate trying’, and ‘Nervous’, and handled thirty-eight feelings of children in detail. ‘I dislike studying the most’, ‘There’s nothing I can do well’, ‘I don’t have enough time to study’, etc. are the reasons why children don’t want to study.
The author first takes care of the heart and thoughts of children and provides alternative thoughts and some tips. Readers would feel a bit guilty as if their emotions were revealed and at the same time, they also could be sympathized by the author through this book. Then, they will be able to think of alternatives. By doing so, they would feel that the first step to study is to have an open mind toward studying itself, which is the author’s intention to emphasize in a persuasive way.
