The writer happened to meet the oriental medicine study by accident. In the process of studying the relationship among the body, heart, and the disease, she came up with one sentence. ‘The woman who cannot be healed in Korea happens to visit Alaska to cure her disease.’ The novel begun with this concept has a main character in the oriental medicine clinic in Alaska. The woman, the main character, suffered from severe pain in her right arm and hands, which nobody knew the reason, after minor car accident. With several visits in several hospitals, she finally got the ‘complex pain syndrome’. One day, she found out the academic reports that somebody completely cured this disease.
The disease was known that there was no specific standard for diagnosis and no case to be cured. It turned out that the Korean oriental medicine clinic in Alaska was the place where the patient was fully cured. The main character decided to visit Alaska. At first, readers might feel awkward that the woman in Korea suddenly went to the middle of Alaska one day, but the author has the power to persuade readers to keep reading on this book while concentrating on the main character.

Realistic worries and emotional wounds of the main character, which were shown in the mysterious continent with blizzard as if the fantastic story is proceeded, are also contained in our own stories. The novel also had the movie contract before the publishment. It means that people believed in the universality and strong storyline in this book.
