This story begins with a tiny seed. Inside the small stone wall, a child wearing red boots visits to this small field and sows these lettuce seeds into the field. As time goes by, these seeds begin to come out and grow up under the wind, rain, and sunshine. The child wearing red boots waters lettuce seeds and even thins out unnecessary lettuces in the field. Now, the only thing left to him is eating full-grown lettuces. He eats the lettuces with meat and raw fish.
This picture book makes us look slowly and delicately into lettuce, which we have just passed by so far, in our daily life. Diverse shapes of lettuce and young green leaves are fresh and vivid. The series of work to raise lettuce in the field is just common work happening as time goes by, but the writer makes this simple work even friendlier to us in this world completed by sewing.
