In this picture book, an innocent child and a sly grandma are main characters. The child, who is used to go grocery shopping with his mom in store, has always wondered one thing. There is a lot of food in Grandma’s house, but where is all this food coming from? Grandma doesn’t teach her grandson as a word, instead, she lets him figure out by himself.
In the end, only when the grandson goes back home, the author reveals what kinds of herbs and fruit she picks up and how she dries food in wind and the sun to readers. This book has different structure in the first and the last sections. In the first section, the author shows how the child, who’s curious of grandma’s secret, imagine about her grandma, but in the last section, the author reveals the real secret of the grandma. Therefore, somewhat childish crayon’s illustrations are seen in the first section, but the illustrations become more detailed and subtle in the last section. Furthermore, humor and vivid local languages are additionally shown in this book.
