The producers, who never stops working for the last 6 years after signing the contract in May, 2005, told that they wanted to start from ‘a really good story’, because they actually created the animation film. It would not be easy to transform the original version into animation due to its complicated storyline, but they made great efforts to create a special animation which also deserves a special story. In order to demonstrate the pure nature from the original version, they ruled out 3D technology, which easily gives us the feeling of artificiality. Instead, they chose 2D cell animation technology, and mixed up many special effects. Furthermore, they visited Upo Wetlands, the 524th natural monument, several times, and created mountains, lakes, and fields in a new oriental paining style. More than 150 staffs spent 2 years of organizing continuity, 3 years of picture painting, and 2 years of filming to complete 2,000 background scenes, and more than 120,000 moving scenes.
And, now the movie director and the original writher, who has watched all the process of her book turning into a movie with pleasure and trust, bonded together to create this animation book. This animation book is published by the original writer, Hwang, Seon-Mi, and illustrated by Odolttogi, the animation producing group, based on the animated film of ‘Leafie, a Hen to the Wild’.
