The rapidly spreading rumor like virus
The story of a deported poor grain of rice was spread quickly as a rumor and the defective grain of rice began being deported when discovered in the rice world. The standard to be considered as defective grain got stricter and higher such as a tiny grain, a wounded grain, and a cracked grain. As the suspicion got bigger, the grains divided themselves as my side and the other side. The different character was considered as wrong one and the majority kicked out the minority. The writer, Byure, presented somewhat deep theme as interesting one with her witty imagination. She used the disaster warning system in reality in this book and described the changing process of the world of rice from ‘Caution’ to ‘Alert’, and to ‘Serious’ in the end. The writer also created nervousness by using a police car with siren to find out defective grains of rice and expressed the irony that we all had to be suspicious of our own family, friends, and neighbors in a speedy way.
