Book Information & Summary
Written by Hyo-Mi / Illustrated by Kim, Yoo-Da
You can not write down more than three sentences? You've filled your diary with lies?
Here's one of your kind, Min-Woo.
He happens to find the secret door to 'Diary Library' while cleaning the school library as a punishment.
What did Min-Woo see in 'Diary Library'.
Min-Woo's school had a teacher who made kids clean the school library as a punishment whenever they failed to write more than three sentences in their diaries. Min-Woo, who always found it very difficult to keep a diary, had to clean the library with his friends. As time went by, however, his friends came to satisfy the requirements and no more had to clean the library. In the end, Min-Woo was left alone, and had to clean the library all by himself. One day, while he was erasing doodles on the wall, he accidentally found out a secret door, which led to a very large room filled with a huge number of books on the bookshelves. It was the 'Diary Library' where all the diaries of former students had been collected for so many years! He finally ended up with reading various kinds of diaries there.
Then, he started to copy other students' diaries, thinking that he would not have to talk with the teacher and clean the school library any more if he just jotted down more than three sentences of them. The teacher found this out and asked him why he had copied them. Min-Woo said that it was so hard for him to keep a diary and that he was so nervous about the teacher's everyday check on the diaries. He also told him all about the secret library. This changed the teacher a lot. The surprising fact was that one of the diaries Min-Woo copied was the teacher's own one! The teacher eventually came to remember how he himself had suffered from having to keep a diary when he was a student.
This story fascinates us with the structure where a secret library is hidden in an ordinary school and every detail of the students' lives with all the secrets is also hidden in it.
